CGBP Practice Exam
NASBITE CGBP Practice Exam Information
(A printable version of this information availabe here, including the conversion chart to the CGBP scaled score.)
A practice exam for the NASBITE CGBP is now available. This 75 question exam is one-half the actual exam of 150 questions. Questions from the practice exam have come from previous exams and new questions recently developed for future exams. This practice exam allows you the opportunity to test your trade knowledge against questions very similar to those found on current CGBP exams. The cost of the practice exam is $50. Only credit card payment is accepted. The practice exam is not in any way required. This is strictly available as an option for candidates as a resource.
Please read this information carefully before taking the exam. Once you have reviewed this information, click here and you will be taken to the payment screen or visit www.faincompany.com/nasbite. Only complete the payment screen when you are ready to take the exam.
1) You must use Internet Explorer. The website may prompt you to allow the installation of an ActiveX program called stglauncher.cab. This program is required in order that the exam be taken within a secure environment. During the exam, you will not be allowed to access other programs on your computer, including a web browser, email, or to print.
2) You will have two hours in which to complete the practice exam. Your goal should be to try and finish within 90 minutes since that would be the same pace at which you’ll need to take the actual exam (150 questions, three hours). You must complete the practice exam in one setting – meaning you can not close down your computer and take the remaining exam later. During the exam, a timer will display how much of the 2 hours is remaining.
3) Feedback: At the end of the exam, you will be provided a study guide (sample shown below) indicating how many questions you answered correctly, and the percent correct. You will also be shown which questions you got wrong, but only the question number, not the actual question. During the exam, you may want to write down the question number of any question you worry you may have missed so you can later see if you did get it wrong. See below for a sample of the ‘study guide’ feedback you’ll receive at the end of the exam.
4) Studying for the Actual Exam: For each question you answered incorrectly on the practice exam, you will be provided the six digit rubric that correlates to the task and knowledge statement against which the question was based. For example, if you were to miss a question asking about the types of Letters of Credit, included on your study guide would be the number 04/04/05. If you refer to the NASBITE CGBP Tasks and Knowledge Document (as explained here) and available as a .pdf here, you would see that 04/04/05 is knowledge of “types of letters of credit (e.g., confirmed/unconfirmed, irrevocable, transferable, standby, with a time draft)” You should review the topics (rubrics) you missed so you can make a note of topics, agencies, definitions, or general knowledge that you should study.
5) Practice Exam Fees and Payment: The cost of the exam is $50. The opening screen of the practice exam is the credit card payment page. You’ll be asked provide the credit card details associated with the credit card. If you are using another person’s credit card (such as a university card), you’ll need to enter the name as it appears on the card, not your name. Do not provide credit card details until you are ready to take the exam. The two hour exam will be immediately after you submit your credit card info.
6) Scores Are Confidential: The score and study guide from your practice exam are confidential to you and not emailed or sent to anyone else. The only personal information required for the exam is related to the credit card processing.
7) Technical Problems: Your browser must be able to accept and run ActiveX programs. You also must complete the exam in one sitting – you may not start and re-start the exam. Should you have a problem, you may phone Jim Foley at (309) 677-3075 during business hours for assistance. You may also email jff@bradley.edu with any issues or comments on the exam.
To pay and take the practice exam, click here. or visit www.faincompany.com/nasbite. Once you have submitted your credit card details, the two exam will start immediately.
